Exams
Gelner Optometry, P. C. offers
comprehensive eye health examinations including screening for cataracts, glaucoma, and other eye diseases. Visual fields are
performed on patients to evaluate peripheral vision and the status of the retina.
Corneal topography equipment is used to evaluate the overall corneal
status for potential lasik vision patients as well as contact lens wearers. This measurement takes a computerized mapping
of the cornea.
Eyeglasses
The eyeglass dispensary has a wide variety of
spectacle frames available. Many designer lines are presented including Ralph Lauren Polo, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Coach,
Maui Jim, and Diane Von Furstenberg.
Utilitarian frames are also available for those
patients who want a sturdy pair of glasses without the name brand expense.

Contact Lenses
Many varieties of contact lenses are available at Gelner Optometry,
P.C. Bifocal and astigmatism correcting lenses are fit regularly as well as the traditional single vision lenses.
The daily use soft lens is recommended highly for individuals
with allergy problems, athletes, and frequent travelers.
Another alternative is the oxygen permeable rigid contact
lens, which can be custom designed for the individual patient.
Insurance
Most national vision insurance plans are accepted at our office.
These include plans offered by many employers, such as Parkway Schools, Anheuser-Busch, Southwestern Bell, Amdocs, Lucent
Technologies, At&T, and Boeing.
If in doubt about your particular insurance coverage, please
check with your human resources department about your plan.
